Endangered Person and Silver Advisories

Voluntary partnerships between law enforcement and local broadcasters to rapidly share information about missing and endangered people.

Endangered Person Advisory

The Endangered Person Advisory is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement and local broadcasters to rapidly disseminate information about a missing and endangered person to law enforcement agencies, broadcasters, and the public. The advisory is initiated solely by Missouri law enforcement agencies.

Law enforcement agencies should complete the Endangered Person Advisory form (SHP-716) and follow the instructions provided on the form.

The form opens on mshp.dps.missouri.gov in a new tab. The brochure is a page on this site.

Endangered Silver Advisory

The Endangered Silver Advisory is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement and local broadcasters to rapidly disseminate information about a missing and endangered adult.

Criteria

  • The person is 60 years of age or older and believed to be suffering from dementia or other cognitive impairment.
  • A legal custodian of the missing person has submitted a missing person report to the local law enforcement agency where the person went missing.
  • There is sufficient information available to disseminate to the public that could assist in locating the missing adult.
