Purpose

The Endangered Silver Advisory is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement and local broadcasters to rapidly disseminate information about a missing and endangered adult.

Criteria

• Person is 60 years or older with dementia or cognitive impairment

• Legal custodian has filed a missing person report with local law enforcement

• Sufficient information is available to assist the public in locating the adult

Procedure for Agencies

• Create NCIC message using Endangered Missing (EME) code on Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES)

• Email moalerts@mshp.dps.mo.gov or fax (573-751-6814) the ESA form with attachments

• Contact Troop F Headquarters: (573) 751-1000

• Prepare dispatchers for incoming calls

• Appoint a public information officer (PIO)

After Activation

All Missouri law enforcement agencies are notified via MULES and MIAC email. Broadcasters, media, Missing Persons Unit, Department of Health and Senior Services, and Missouri Department of Transportation are also notified.

Cancellation Procedure

• Mark form "Cancellation" with recovery details

• Email or fax to moalerts@mshp.dps.mo.gov or (573) 751-6814

• Call (573) 751-1000 to verify receipt

• Cancel MULES EME message
