About the Registry

Missouri implemented statewide sex offender registration in 1995 per the Jacob Wetterling Act. Current regulations (Sections 589.400-425 and 43.650 of Revised Statutes of Missouri) mandate the Highway Patrol maintain the database and public website.

Important: It is illegal to use any information regarding a registered sexual offender to facilitate the commission of a crime.

Registration Status Definitions

• Compliant: Individual registering as required

• Non-Compliant: Individual has not updated information per county requirements

• Pending Registration: Individual recently moved counties or awaiting release from DOC

• Absconder: Whereabouts unknown to law enforcement

• Incarcerated: Located in correctional facility

• Moved Out of State: No longer residing/working/schooling in Missouri
