Criminal Justice Information Services Division

The Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division serves as the Central Repository for the State of Missouri.

About the Division

The Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol serves as the Central Repository for the State of Missouri.

The Central Repository is responsible for collecting, storing, and disseminating criminal history information received by various state reporting agencies, such as arresting agencies, prosecuting attorneys, courts, and correctional institutions.

Information provided by reporting agencies will create or contribute to the records as maintained within the state’s criminal history system and other integrated systems, such as the state fingerprint system. CJIS is dedicated to the protection of these records and actively implements the federal CJIS Security Policy to ensure that records remain secure and accessed by authorized users.

CJIS is made up of various units assigned to the Administrative Support, Operations, and Technical Systems: Training and Auditing Sections.
